FSD have recently been awarded the contract for the electrical installation and building services at the Maundown Water Treatment Works near Wiveliscombe in Somerset. This is a Wessex Water site and instead of working for a main contractor our contract is with Wessex Water who are managing the construction.

The project at Maundown is essentially a new-build conventional modern water works. There is an existing water works on the site which has reached the limit of its viable upgrades, and the new works with a higher capacity are being built alongside. Following commissioning of the new works the old works will be demolished.

A key reason for us winning this contract was FSD offering Wessex Water a viable programme to meet their commissioning and in-service requirements. This will represent the major challenge of the project, achieving a completed process installation inside 6½ months, with the building services a month later.
