FSD were awarded a £350k contract for the installation of LV panels – MCCs and stand alone variable Speed Drives – together with the provision of interconnecting busbar and cabling at the Riverside Resource Recovery Facility, by ABB Switzerland.
Riverside Resource Recovery is a new Energy from Waste facility at Belvedere, London, designed with an annual capacity of 585,000 tonnes of waste and producing an output of 50MW.
FSD’s scope included the design, supply and installation of:
- Support frames for circa 98m of panels
- 6,300A busbar for interconnecting between two LV boards
- Containment for interconnecting cables
- Interconnecting cables
- Panel installation including lifting to appropriate level, landing on scaffold landing platform and moving into position, reconnection of shipping sections and flash testing
The project had significant logistical issues which FSD played an integral role in resolving to ensure that this critical element of the overall project was completed in time.
