This was a five-month project to install 1000m of ladder racking and pull 8,500m of various cable sizes to some purpose-made IP67-rated stainless steel Junction Boxes in the invert under the East Tunnel. This in turn fed supplies to existing Electrical Distribution Points throughout the length of the roadside in the tunnel. Work was undertaken over a mixture of days and nights, co-ordinating with organised road closures.

Working in collaboration with the engineers, Jacobs, the tunnel operators, Le Crossing Ltd, together with our previous experience gained on other projects on the tunnel, we managed to complete the works on budget and six weeks early.

An excellent relationship has been forged on some six separate projects at Dartford using the same team, so that value can be passed on to the end user, and safety controls can be easily managed, giving great results all round. The Highways Agency as the end user (and client in this instance) are most definitely a preferred client.
